A mandatory 3–5 minute safety brief for all guests: life-jacket locations, restricted areas, fire extinguishers and exits, alcohol rules; children wear life jackets at all times on open decks.
Life jackets for at least 110% of persons aboard (child sizes included) · ring buoy with throw line · in-date fire extinguishers · first-aid kit · VHF or two phones with port authority, rescue and VNYC hotline numbers.
A trip stops at any gate: (1) expired documents or insufficient crew; (2) missing life jackets, fire-fighting or life-saving gear, or passenger count over the permitted limit; (3) weather beyond thresholds or a no-sail order in force.
The platform tracks every document expiry with 30/14/7-day reminders — overdue documents hide the listing automatically. Deck patrols at least hourly with logbook entries. Every incident, including near-misses, is reported within 24 hours. Safety drills at least every 6 months.
